Hatchery or Local Feed Store?

I pick hatchery over feed store, by miles, but miles above hatchery is breeder.

If someone just wants a small number of chicks of standard breeds, then the feed store will work. But if a person wants maybe 15 or more chicks or wants a rarer breed, then a hatchery is better. Remember that most chicks at feed stores were purchased from hatcheries.

And if a person wants eggs and not show birds, a hatchery is often better than a breeder. Hatcheries put more focus on breeding for egg production, particularly with popular breeds.

If you want show birds, buy from a breeder.
