Hatchery Recommendation?

Why would an employee at a feed store know all the details of every breed? I agree, they could try harder but that's asking a lot.
During my last run to the feed store for chicks, I used the word "pullet" and they had no idea what I was talking about. So yea, I really wouldn't depend on feed store employees for information about the chickens.

At the same time, I'm not angry with them either. Chickens are somewhat of a niche hobby these days and not everyone shares the passion for it. A teenager who just got this summer job to get some spending money or a car is not a bad person, just a bad resource for knowledge.

But to the original question, go with sex-linked breeds. Beyond that, the hatchery shouldn't matter much (as long as they gave you the right breed).

I’m looking to get more chicks but I already have 2 cockerels. Are there any hatcheries you recommend that actually knows what they’re doing when it comes to sexing chicks. I’ve realized it’s not an easy thing but I’m wanting pullets
I've always had excellent luck with Ideal poultry. They have been accurate with sexing, and my chickens from there are very hardy.

I’ve researched a couple sex-linked breeds but I really want buff Orpington.
