Can someone help me identify my babies. I ordered 4 mottled Javas from Ideal in February. What I got were chicks that were all black, yellow feet, straight comb, they are very sweet and friendly too. They love to chatter with me. So two of them were of the color I'm posting here and two are all black with a bit of light silver penciling on their necks.

if you'll notice there is also a bit of an auburn color here and there. The neck on Penelope in the pic is the color if the neck on the all black chickens, thought it is a bit lighter. Please help!!

Thanks for your input everyone. I looked up the silver Sussex and the coloring is very similar, but Penelope's legs are a slate and feet are yellow, not the white of the Sussex. Also, no where on Ideals website does it show that they sell Sussex (maybe I missed it). Ill have to check on the Iowa Blue. Thanks!

Ideal has speckled Sussex, and no hatchery has silver Sussex. They certainly are not Javas. I agree that they may be Iowa Blues.

Yup, I agree they might be Blues. I just posted on their thread to see what they think. Thanks for the help!
