Ok is there any color or size for same 5 -6 week old Turkeys from both breeds , are there any color difference or the same .........should the BBB be larger than the Starndards Bronze.......how can you tell the difference ......I purchase 6 of each and the colors are the same , the size of some are larger but looking at there feet ....some that are largerwhich I'm thinking bbb have small legs and feet and some have large feet and some that are small in size which I'm thinking ARE THE STARNDARDS have large legs and feet .......

There isn't any color difference, But for size there is. At that age the males and females BBB's will have bigger breast and the Keel bone in the chest won't feel as predominate as a standard. Females may appear more like standard in size, but that will have larger feet and legs. When it's time to butcher there should not be any problems telling them apart.

At 5 to 6 weeks it can be confusing, by at least 12 weeks the male and female characteristics will be apparent but easier to identify at around 15 weeks. by then the BBB's legs and chest will be larger and the legs wider apart then the standard.
