hatchery strains of cornish x

simple question. I live in the desert of Arizona and want to get meat chickens but with the extreme heat wasn't sure if I needed to have them shipped from a local hatchery or if shipping from states away would be a problem. Help! Never had meaties before.

Really pleased with Schlecht hatchery at $0.88/bird. Birds have all been healthy. 52 of the most recent batch went into the brooder, 52 moved into the tractor.

I hadn't found central hatchery previously but their prices are attractive. Thanks for the tip.

Well I ended up ordering 100 meaties, splitting 50 with a friend, 2 silver laced polish and 2 golden laced polish hens for the kids and the total came to $138.??. I didn't think that was too bad.

I'm picking up 50 broilers from Central Hatchery on August 18. Total price is $40, but no shipping since they are just down the road from me.
