I raised my first batch of cornish xs and had them butchered monday, they were 8 weeks old. I ordered them from mcmurray and was very pleased with them. Out of 29, I lost 6. 2 of them was my fault and 4 was the extreme heat we had last week. I am going to order 50 this time and found meyer hatchery has them alot cheaper the mcmurray and meyer is in ohio, as I am too. Are these birds going to be as good as the ones from mcmurray? Anybody have any feedback from meyer? Good or bad?

I vote for Meyers. My friends and I always get our birds from them and have always had good luck, and fast growers. But then we also live close enough to go pick them up, so no shipping charges or DOA's

you will make people like me very jealous to hear that! LOL

HI!
Got 100 silver cross cornish from Hoffman Hatchery in PA, only
had 1 DOA. They're doing great! 100 chicks with shipping was $101.50.
Great way to fill the freezer! Very happy with Hoffman's.
I've heard Meyer is excellent as well, if you get on their mailing list they will
send you weekly specials. Good luck!

P.S. I'm in NY too, the shipping was cheapest from Hoffman's.
(I researched for a while!)
The order went in Monday, chicks arrived on Wed., so only 1 day
in transit. FYI!
