I had some very special eggs in the incubator from by deceased ducks, and as of last night, they are dropping like flies. we had 14, but one had died early so we were at a steady 13. last night, 6 seemed to have bacteria growing in the air cell. then 2 more in the morning. and even 2 more just now. i only have 3 left, and i don't think they will hatch. i would like to get more ducks and i was wondering which hatchery has the smallest minimum for number of birds. i would only want a couple (and thats all my parents would probably let me have). thanks.

With Ideal you only have a minimum of $20.00 per order. There isn't a minimum number if your total is more than that. I have 7 ducklings that I ordered from them that are great. I did have 1 that had died within 20 minutes of arrival but they were great about crediting back the amount for the duckling.

Ideal has a minimum order of $25, regardless of quantity. I just ordered four ducklings and five chicks from them and I'm very happy with the service and the health of every one of them. They will charge a $1.00 boxing fee for small orders and they will put in packing peanut chicks, but they will forgo the extra chicks if you buy insurance. It's well worth looking into, in any case.

well i checked out ideal and they don't have pekins avaliable until next year. i know i could pick a different breed, but i love my pekins

I wanted feather legged cuckoo marans and they were not supposed to have them for months. So I clicked on the notify me button and gave them the info on what I wanted and how many, I got an email like 3 days later saying I could call them and add them to my order that was coming the following week.

If I was you I would call them and ask if you can be notified when they'll be available. It's worth a try!

with ideal... the minumum is $20 BUT if yuou buy just 4 or 5 ducks they send like 9 baby chicks for warmth O.O
i know! i got my first 5 ducks and they arrived with 9 chicks e.e
then the chicks started pecking the ducks.
then i FINALLY found a farm to take them who wouldent eat them, all male chicks btw.

i may have 1 lil khaki duck left from a hatch now? i could give you a male when they get old enugh?? or whenever you want?
i have another batch due the 31st, blue swedish.khaki and maybe runner mix.
PM me?

Also there are alot of peole in CT near you :3

shhh! don't tell them about the chicks!! lol. i'll just keep that a secret until the box shows up. "mom, dad! omg there are chickens in here!" tah dah! lol
i'm afraid to get eggs again though, maybe not for a little while. the ones in the incubator are still there and seem to be growing with bacteria shrinking, so i'm just letting them continue. after how badly this hatch has been going, i think i'll wait for awhile. and i'll have back-up stocks of eggs just in case they don't hatch. lol
