Hatching a peacock egg with white silkies, first time !

I am hatching a peacock egg for the first time in a Brinsea Mini advance. At the moment I am at day 14. So far so good. I am also hatching some silkies . They are only at day 3. My question is ,is the peacock chick the same size at hatching? Also can I candle the peacock egg every day. I am finding it all fascinating seeing the little one moving about.

Nope, the peachick will be much bigger at hatch, especially if the Silkies are bantams. Don't candle the egg during lockdown often because it will mess with the humidity.

That is so eggciting. So far so good although they will all hatch at different times. 4/06 is the peacock hatch day ,9/06 is the chicks and the ducklings 20/06. Luckily I noticed a cracked smelly duck egg just now and removed it before damage was done. Do you have a photo of your little chicks?

Yes I do, i posted it above, I’m going to post another. She just hatched them this morning and I’m waiting on more. I’m so proud
And I can’t wait to see the pics of yours! There will be so many cute little fuzzy chicks!!!!

Peachicks are bigger than chicks. I had 1hatch yesterday and one that's almost done zipping now.
