Hello Everyone,
I am getting chick's I know how to look after them in the garden very well
but I don't really know how to look after them in the incunater you see..
I am not really sure how long they can come out of the incubater while their chick's and have a little wounder
after they hatch I am keeping 2 and selling the other's because my sister will be getting chick's and keep them in a same bit as I will be. so if I ask some question's could you help me...

1) How long can I let them out in my bedroom?
2) Is it healthy for them to sleep in the same room as me?
3) What kind of food would they need to eat?
4) After they hatch do we put them in something else so they have more room under the incubater?
5) What age is it ok to hold them?
6) How would you clean them out and give them good and water?
7) What happen's if the bulb goes out?
8) If the bulb goes out what would I have to do to keep them alive?

Thank you
Hope you can give me some answer's

Georgina

A mother hen provides a warm spot and lots of cool space. After the first week they don't hang out under her except to warm up.
When they're very young I use 2 lamps when I'm not around in case 1 goes out, however, that is out in an unheated building. Less worries in a heated building. Make sure they don't get too hot. If they huddle by the light they're too cold, if they stay away, they're too hot.
They should eat a chicken starter or grower feed for at least 90% of their diet. I only feed a grower for the first 10 weeks. It has all the nutrients they need. For a treat you could give hard boiled egg and after they're a couple weeks old, a few small mealworms.
For the first week, I put them on paper towels, rolling the towels up, composting them and putting new ones down. After that I keep them on pine shavings.
They put out a lot of dust so I don't recommend they stay indoors long.

Thank you for the reply I will do that
and they will be in the office at home ( indoors )
When they are hatched Me and my Mum are going to put them in a plastic ( I think ) Box ( very small )
Their mother's will not be their and I do not want my chicken's spikey and snowdrop near them and how roughly can they stay outside of the lamp??
and if they live in door's when they are ready to go outside will it be ok to put them in a run where they can see other chicken's walking around them???
or should we put the chick's where they can't see the 2 adult's???
( we have a cage especially for chick's until they are fully old enough to go out with the other's
