I have 10 eggs in an incubator which a hen started to sit on but the after killing the first chick that hatched by squishing it i put them in my incubator. Other hens had laid in the nest box with her so they are all hatching at different times. So far i have 7 hatched spread over 10 days.
1 of the eggs has just started to smell really bad and has slight runny substance coming out of it. I know it has a chick in it however will it be dead? If there's a chance it's ok then i will leave it however i have no idea when it should hatch. I had another which went bad and left it to cool down over night which i presumed would kill the chick if it was still alive before cracking it open to see if it had something in. The chick inside was fully developed, feathers and all. That is why i am reluctant to get rid of this one that's going bad. Any advice would be great. I think it i do decide to keep it, i would have to move my incubator outside so i can't smell it.
