Ok so I’m on my first try with hatching bwq chicks. I have two separate incubators- one for the incubation and the other for hatching. I’ve done good with the incubation period... once I put my eggs in lockdown for the 3 day hatch... it’s been five days.. and nothing! The eggs were fine and I saw movement before I put them in lock down. What could be the issue here? It’s a still air incubator and I’m not sure what the problem is!!

Temp was 100.9 and humidity was 60% during incubation. On hatch... it’s 98.5 humidity at 70%

Ok, when using still air incubator you want the temp to be 102F (lower temps tend to slow hatch) 60% humidity is high for the incubation period. (which also slows hatch) You normally want it around 40% humidity and 50% at the MOST.

Ok just to make sure I understand... what temp and humidity should I be at for incubation and for the ha
And do you have any thermometers Or hydrometer in the bator? (The incubators thermostat isn’t always right)
no I don’t have anything other than the one built in. I’ll defin be getting some though. Also... so I understand- what should the temp and humidity be for hatching? I wanna make sure I’m doing it right. You said 102• and 40-50% hum. for incubation, right?

You have two incubators, the incubator and the hatcher. Are they BOTH still air?

Still air temp should be 102 for incubating and lockdown. Humidity should be 40-50%, (much closer to 40 or even below that IMO), during incubation and 60-70% during lockdown (for hatching).

Forced air incubators (with a fan) should 99.5-100F with the same humidity.

What day did you move them to lockdown?
