QUAIL EGG FLATS OR SHIPPING CARTONS, OR USE THE EGG TRAYS FROM A TURNER, JUST REMOVE THE TO YOUR HATCHER AND SET THEM DIRECTLY IN SIDE FLAT SO THE EGGS ARE UPRIGHT.
I TOO USE A SEPERATE BATOR AS A HATCHER.
FOR FOLKS WHO USE ONLY 1 BATOR AND AN AUTOTURNER YOU DONT EVEN HAVE TO REMOVE THE TURNER, JUST TIME IT TO WHEN THE EGGS ARE UPRIGHT AND UNPLUG THE TURNER.
Is there any reason they can not lay in the hatcher? The first batch I had I layed directly into the hatcher and they did well.
I use a GQF sportsman. eggs are layed flat , get about 90% hatch rate. So its ok if forced air incubator. Even ok in still air if you keep them at the same level. Think about it they lay flat in nature, only reason to incubate small end down its easier to turn with auto turner.
My best hatch are with roll-x and turn-x and these eggs are layed flat the full time. Heck I even lay my peafowl eggs on their side in my gqf increased my hatch rate.
Most all hatchery even lay all eggs flat in the hatchers.
