Hi,

Wondering if you could help I am hatching 12 buff orpington ducks and I have:

1 duckling that has hatched early (day 25) and is doing great
1 that's got its beak sticking out and is about 3/4 of the way round,
1 that's not started to zip but was the 1st to pip
2 have started to zip and stopped
1 externally pipped (wrong end) not yet 12hrs
6 that have done nothing

How would you deal with a mixed bag of hatching stages?

Do I take out the duckling after 24hrs and help the ones that are still alive? I'm just worried if I open the incubator after 24hrs that it will cause shrink wrap.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks
Jo

Thanks for the links I'll have a look at them now.

1st one hatched 14hrs ago
the one with the beak sticking out has now zipped and is ready to pop out
still only 4 others that have EP'd but doesn't seem to be anything hapening

Nice to have some spring babies ;)
