I have some button quail eggs in a still air incubator right now. I heard that 101 is a good temperature for a still air... is this correct? I have humidity at 30%. The temperature has fluctuated between 99.5-102 though... will this kill them? When they hatch, how long should I leave them in the incubator before putting them in the brooder? Thanks! If only one or two hatch I think I'll try another batch... I heard buttons can be territorial... if they were born only a week apart do you think they will fight?

Also, how many times should I turn the eggs a day? I heard two but would more be better? And I meant (above) that I was wondering if the babies would fight if they were 3-4 weeks apart.

101 degrees @40-50% humidity, turn 3 times daily, for the first 13-14 days then raise it to 60-70% humidity and stop turning.

The eggs won't die as long as they don't spend long periods of time above 102. 103 is kinda the critical temp, you pass that for long embryos die.

When they hatch, you'll want to wait for them to dry then remove. It usually takes 10-12 hours. Don't let buttons stay in the bator longer than 18 hours after hatch if you can avoid it. However do not open the door even to remove chicks if other eggs are pipped. When you open the door on pipped eggs they'll get stuck in the shell and most often die.
