Hatching chicks for selling-Questions?

Do any of you take back roosters if you sell straight run? If I did, I would cull them immediately but I feel like even that is a risk to my flock. Maybe I could take those to someone to process them...

If you do take them back, how do you handle it? Do you offer a refund? Do you tell them if you are going to cull them? Would you still eat a rooster that you didn't know the history of? I would really rather not deal with taking any back, but I feel like selling straight run chickens would be a lot easier if people knew they had a way to get rid of their roosters.

Straight run means boys or girls. if sold that way you DON'T take back. If you sell hens, and promise females then yah.

Obviously you realize that the problem is biosecurity. No i do not take birds back once theyve left because once you have a disease present on your property? Its one of the residents. I absolutly would not allow it, and as far as taking them to the butcher? My problem there is that you dont know the age, and thats tough because if the roos over 6 months old his meat will be tough, and stringy, and generally tasting bad from testosterone. Maybe with the straight run chick sales, you give them the butchers #?

i want to buy 120 EE when my incubators finished to do a test run. I figure $40 on fresh fertile eggs (have to pick them up myself for that price) and if every one hatched I might make double my investment. minus the cost to hatch them if I sell them as chicks. So I stand to make $35 and I only spent about $300 of my own money building the incubator...........lol
