So I'm going to hatch some chicks by myself for the first time (I've hatched them with my grandpa before). I'm going to put some eggs in the incubator this coming week, eggs from my grandpas chickens and some organic eggs from the store, so any and all advice would be appreciated!

Most eggs from the store are not fertile. Most people that are selling eggs as food do not waste money on food for a rooster they do not need. Organic just means the hens are fed an all natural diet with no chemicals of any kind being used. Eggs from the store are washed too. That ruins the viability of the eggs. Stick with eggs from your grandpa or from someone you know who has a rooster and hasn't washed the eggs.

@nchls school I'm mostly doing it for my grandpas eggs, but I've seen a lot of people lately hatching eggs that they've bought from the store, as long as they get the right ones, so I decided I'd try it too while I'm hatching.

Ask the store about their supplier. Maybe they can tell you or give you the person's name so you can do some investigating

Even at that several days in the incubator and you can candle them and see if they are good; nothing ventured-nothing gained. Just as long as you know they might not be fertile.
