Hatching day! How many will hatch?

It’s finally hatching day! I’ve had 5 eggs hatch so far out of 11. The others still don’t have pips, does this mean they won’t hatch at all or is it possible they will just hatch later?

When did you candle last? Chicks can hatch a while after other chicks, even longer than a full day.

I candles on day 16, at that point they all had approximately the same size air cells as well as they all took up most of the egg

Any more hatch? Sometimes eggs will hatch later if they were in a "colder" spot in the incubator. If the others have hatched and are in the brooder, you can safely candle the unhatched eggs and look for internal pipping or movement.

I checked them this morning and I see what looks like the start of external pipping! So I’ll leave the eggs in for another 24hrs and see.
