Hatching Duck Eggs

I think that is one of those things that there are vastly different opinions about. Some people do a cool down period with ducks & have great hatches & some people don't & still have great hatches. I do let mine cool down a little.
Lots of good luck

I've just recieved 4 BEI eggs in the post ..cant wait to set them

I "believe" that they are referring to "during" incubation. The idea is; After about 10 to 12 days of sitting on her eggs, momma duck gets off of the nest and goes for a swim and a feed... she returns to the nest with wet breast feathers and resumes incubating her eggs. She will repeat this process every couple days or so. Here's what I do: after day 12 of incubation, I take a generic plastic spray bottle, fill it with warm tap water from the "hot" side of the tap, and I mist the eggs "lightly" sometimes I use a damp sponge and wipe the tops of the eggs. This does seem to help the ability of the little ducks to break the egg for hatching.
