Hello I had my brisnea mini 2 incubator stable temp and put eggs in today but now I’m questioning my set up because the temp keeps fluctuating 98-100 I’m kind of freaking out that I’ve already ruined these eggs first being in our cold house overnight resting now temp not stable. My house is in cold pa mountains we have oil heat set 61-63 so before it goes off it gets cold. Since the fluctuation and concern needing room temp above 63 we put heat lamp near incubatorto hopefully stabalize area temp. But I keep pushing it away and closer and using temp knob to go slightly up and down because it keeps going 98 then I’ll see 100 move slightly away it’s 98. Is this set up okay and is this really going to be an issue ? I didn’t even consider winter hatching because of my two ducks one died couple weeks ago from eating staple and I’m just anxious to give my other duck a buddy since couldn’t find anything on Craigslist near me. Thanks !!

Is it a still air or forced air incubator? And what day are they on? They should be fine if they’re fluctuating between 98-100...they may hatch a bit late from cooler temps but probably nothing major..I’d put a towel over your incubator( I do this at lock down to keep my humidity steady)

I am not sure but there is a fan in there so id guess forced air. The fluctuation isn’t as bad today it’s been 99-100. Is that heat lamp near it okay ? I only hatched once before in summer so weather was perfect and not an issue. Thanks
