Hatching early

Today is day 13 and a chick hatched today. They are still in the turner and we haven’t turned up the humidity. This has never happened. HELP!
Wow - sounds very stressful! I guess you should unplug the turner and let everything sit as is for awhile? Maybe this one or all of the eggs were preincubated by a broody? Have you been candling them during incubation?

Where did you get the eggs? They must have been preincubated by something. If shipped they probably developed in the mail. The duck in my avatar hatched on day 11. It's a mallard. My staggered hatch was one batch on day 27 and one batch on day 10. This is a long story, but I'll try to make it short. They amazingly synchronized and every duckling hatched within 48 hours, super young ones and all. I know they were on day 10 too because I keep super meticulous spreadsheets, and they were super fresh when I set them. I was baffled. Just thought this would help. It's possible for them to do it and live. I never lost any ducklings from that clutch. I am amazed to think that if my avatar duckling was still in the egg it would have been on day 13 when that pic was taken, barely halfway through incubation.
