I got a batch of eggs on the 24th of May, blue/green ones, and put them under a broody. on day 7 during candling I noticed a hair line crack that looked to have repaired it's self, but I didn't trust it with broody since she rolls her eggs around. I put the slightly cracked egg in my homemade hatcher (normally I like dry hatching until 18th day) but since it has a crack I am hatching with water in the bator. We are now on day 13 and it seems to be doing fine.

if it's fine, i would leave it alone. i have repaired cracked eggs with candle wax before and they have hatched. and those were shipped eggs as well. good luck!

these I got 2 miles down the road. one egg had a crack, one had a loose air cell. first loose air cell I have seen since i don't get mine by mail. they did pull them out of the fridge. I hatched about 5 batches of fridge eggs before but I knew they were fertile.

i've got some fridge eggs in my bator as well. most of the fridge eggs i just put in the bator yesterday. but i have a few fridge eggs in there that have growth and are on day 7. then i've got other eggs in there given to me from a friend that she took out from under her hens (they had too many eggs). some of those were ROTTEN and thank goodness i found the culprits! my bator is slowly smelling normal now. i've definately got some staggered hatches going on in my bator this year! so i can't use my egg turner. but that's ok.

I am on day 17 I brought all the eggs in for the bator (8). Crows were flying around my coop I didn't want to take a chance. they are all mystery chicks other than EE they come out diff colors. my last batch I had one gray, one red, one black, and 4 black and white.

here is 4 of the 6 eggs that are pipping 2 still have not showed signs. the cracked egg has not shown anything yet. yesterday it was alive. eggs went bacK under momma.
