Over in the emu section of the forum is a picture of a chicken riding around on an emu who is saddled lol

I set 8 mixed heritage turkey eggs today...

OR...... here is this earlier post to refer to.............

Thanks so much for this information. This month I've had my worst hatch rate ever. Then I remembered that last year when I had a 95% hatch rate I'd set the eggs by the moon. I did a search to see if anyone was talking about hatching by moon phases and here I am. It looks like I can set eggs next week on the 29th

I am pretty excited. we have a broody hen and we set eggs under her and they are going to be by the moon. This is her first broody. so i am hoping we get a good number of chicks. But even if we just get a few that would be great.

Ok so I was reading through the thread, and i got very curious. So how does this hatching by the moon work?what does the moon do? And how did you set the eggs, put the incubator outside under the moon or by a window under the moon? This is really interesting but I am just so confused. Can someone please explain to me how this works?? Thanks

Not real sure. It's kinda like when you plant your garden by the moon (ie. plant root crop by the dark of the moon). Certain phases of the moon give better hatch rates.

Kathy, I have the missing dates, but I figured them out myself from this website. I also looked at all the dates you have listed and some of them are not right on with the moon's signs (or the fruitful signs.) Please forgive my lack of technical terms.

Mar 29-30
April 7-8, 16-17, 26-27
May 3-4, 7-8, 16-17, 26-27, 30-2
July 6, 27
August 3-4, 13-14, 22-23, 30-31
Dec 9, 19, 27

Also, based on the fruitful dates under the waxing moon, the very best dates to hatch on are only about twice a month.

Those dates are:
Jan 25-26
Feb 4-5, 21-22
Mar 2-3, 29-30
Apr 26-27
May 3-4, 26-27, 30-31
Jun 1-2, 19-20, 28-29
Jul 25-26
Aug 22-23, 30-31
Sep 1, 18-19, 27-28
Oct 15-16, 24-25
Nov 12-13, 20-21
Dec 17-18, 27-28

BTW: I thought I would share this little story with you. My husband asked me what I was doing. I replied, "I am figuring out the best dates of the year to hatch eggs, based on the lunar cycle and the planets locations. Yep, sounds absolutely CRAZY!

So, based on the hatching dates you gave earlier, is this correct:

Set - Apr 6 – 7 Hatch - Apr 26-27
Set – Apr 6 – 7 Hatch - Apr 26-27
