I have some roosters that have gotten fowl pox. Before I realized I had a problem I had collected eggs to hatch. My question is, can I hatch the eggs or will the chicks start out with it or what? At first I wanted to ask if the Rooster had it but the hen didn't would the chick be infected. But now my hens. Are showing signs of the disease. Thanks for any help.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

As far as I know, Fowl Pox is not transmitted through the egg, but by direct contact with other birds that have it, contaminated water or feed or from the mosquito itself.

However you might post this question in our emergency section for more input on this. Lots of members there know a lot about Fowl Pox....https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/10/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures

Good luck and I hope your eggs are ok!! :)

hope you find the information you are seeking. Personally, I would get the flock cleared up before attempting to hatch any chicks.
