Hatching eggs from multiple days at once?

Hi all,

My quail just laid their first egg (sorry I know this is the chicken hatching forum!) and I have a Hovabator from Christmas. I am worried that since this is their first time laying, and they are quail, that the eggs may be spaced out a lot. I was wanting to hatch them, and was wondering if I could just write the date on each egg and put them in the incubator as they are laid every few days (space it out and put multiple eggs in at once), and then lock down on the 20th day for each egg.

Has anyone tried this? Should I just be patient and wait until I have more eggs at once? I'm just so excited I have my first egg. Any opinions and advise would be welcome.

I do it the way you are suggesting, right now my Sizzles are in REALLY high demand for some reason, so I just set what eggs I gather every few days. I just keep my humidity fairly low, then when it is lockdown time I don't raise the humidity until I see pips. I figure with keeping my humidity low then raising it for all the lockdowns, I am kind of evening it out. It has been working just fine for me, no sticky chicks, no drowned chicks, everything has worked fine.

i have eggs locking down Sunday, then Tuesday, then Wednesday, I don't think I will be sleeping much this week waiting for those pips to raise the humidity. So glad mine is digital and I can just dial it in as needed.
