Anyone ever tried hatching eggs your girls laid in the water?
They've all passed the no float test but I can't be sure how long they've been in the water.
My girls laid a few in the lake right along the shore line.

I wish I could offer an answer, Blondiega1, I just don't recall.

Well, I had a school teacher contact me about getting some eggs to hatch in a class project.
I told her I'd be happy to supply some as long as she promised they went to good homes with full info on how to care for ducks OR they come back to me once the project is over.
She has a farm and promised they'd all get good homes.
Guess they can try and see what happens.

I wouldn't think they'd still be good as water (along with bacteria) may have come in through the pores in the shells while underwater. But honestly, I really don't know for sure. Is it days they may have been in the water, or hours?

I'm thinking a day at the most,
It's just now warmed up enough to trigger the girls to start laying again.
