Hello! This place is for people who want to share info and tips when eggs are hatching(pipping, hatching, assisted hatching, etc...) ! I (and others) would love to hear them! If you have questions, just ask, and someone could reply! If you just want to share tips or info, then write about it! (please only write about the topic, eggs that are pipping, hatching, ect...)
Love to see anybody around here!

Here's a photo to get it started and maybe so more people can join in...

Before lockdown, day 18, candle the point of your egg as well as the top (round end.) The point should be dark. If it is not, it is not ready for lock down and may take an extra day to hatch. A clear point means too much fluid in egg, and if you lock it down with extra water in the incubator, the chick could drown. Eggs that are developing normally the point would be dark on day 16. (Below this egg is actually day 13)

An egg that is ready for lock down should have a slope in candling and the slope side should be set up.

Below is a nice slope, almost all dark, not a lot of fluid near the air cell edge. Ready for lockdown.

It looks like you removed all the shell somehow, leaving the membrane intact?
The duckling couldn't get through the shell and have been trying to get out for too long. I kept the membrane on so the duckling wouldn't dry out and I still have to push out but for it to be easier.
