Hello. Trying to find the right thread to post on. Im new to hatching and as i have read alot if threads on here ive never posted anything. Anyways i had my first hatch finish last week, homemade bator and only three out of ten made it. I want to try again and just looking for help troubleshooting i guess. I see lots of conflicting info on temps n humidity i kept temp at 99 and humidity around 50-55. They started hatching a day late and some pipped n never finished. So sad. Also i dnt have a fan n now im reading to keep temp higher for still air...more like 101. Any thoughts r appreciated. Thank you.

Still air 101 to 102 taken at top of eggs.

Potentially run your humidity a little bit drier. 35 to 40 range.

Yes, 101-102 taken near the tops of the eggs for still air. That would account for delayed hatching. If you are not in high elevation, drop the humidity and monitor the cells to figure out what works for you. I run 30-35% for my standard eggs. I'll give you a link to help for humidity. http://letsraisechickens.weebly.com...anuals-understanding-and-controlling-humidity

For lockdown, make sure humidity is highered, at least 65%, I prefer 70-75%

I'll throw up a link for an overall hatching link as well. http://hatching411.weebly.com/

And :welcome
