Hi everyone.
I have a broody hen. While waiting for eggs for her in the post i let her sit on some eggs i tought would be empty because my rooster is old and lazy. 6 days later the eggs arrived and i candled the old eggs just for fun. Turns out my rooster actualy managed to do his job when i didnt need him to but there was just life in one egg. I let my broody sit on that egg and put the new eggs under her. I have now seen that there is life in some of the new eggs also. What will happen when the first chick will hatch 6 days before the rest..? Should i take that chick from her and wait and try to put him back after the others hatch...? I dont feel good about taking just one chick because it will have to be alone then. Or do I wait and put the other eggs in the incubator if she quits on them? Any advice? Im really worried about the whole thing, and bought the incubator this week to have as a back-up And sorry for my english, i am from Norway
