I am due to lockdown in a few days. The eggs were shipped and a lot of them have detatched aircells. Is hatching in cartons a better method when detatched aircells are involved or should I just lay them on their sides? Instinctively I feel the carton method would be better but I have never hatched that way before. What are the chances of them hatching with detatched cells either way? Anyone had any experience with this? Thanks.

I'd go with the eggs cartons all mine die early if the air cells are detached so well done there

I'd recommend clean styro cartons, cut way down. That way the chicks can easily climb out. Keep an eye out for any bottom pippers though.

Since an auto turner keeps them mostly upright, I would go with the closest thing possible to that position.

Happy hatching!

Well? What's the status of the precious eggs? Are they in lockdown yet?
