So i'm new to hatching, my first hatch I got 12 out of 12 on from start to finish and I was very impressed with my chickens eggs. Second hatch was not as good the eggs were shipped and got here with poop all over them out of 24 eggs we got whopping 10 make it to lock down and only 7 hatch. BUT anyways my question is this: Can you hatch a pullets first 5 eggs, or will there be complications? May be a weird question but my favourite little chicken left 5 eggs and then got eaten. I was thinking about hatching them as the rooster really took a liking to her and fertilized the eggs and they all have yolks but haven't tried hatching such small little pullet eggs before. What do you guys think? Does it make a difference or not..?

Never hurts to try, if they are old enough to lay and breed, they are old enough to make babies. Good luck and sorry about losing your favorite hen. :(

I say go for it! Worst case scenario is most likely that they might not have as good of a hatch rate. There shouldn't be major complications.
