Hey I’m from South Georgia too. You should check out our state thread. Also, if you have FB there are some chicken groups that sell chickens and hatching eggs.

I once had a number of someone who had Heritage RIR chickens but I don’t know them personally so I’d have to check if they don’t mind me giving away their number. (If I even still have it). I never bought any from them.

I've checked and watched FB, craigslist for sometime now. Never found anything on CL around here that was very impressive. FB seems to be more trouble than it's worth. People are too hard to deal with and too inconsistent

I agree. I personally haven’t bought chickens off FB. But have bought cows and goats.

If I’m able to share the person’s POC I’ll PM you. As I mentioned I personally didn’t do business with them, but my husband’s good friend bought quail from them and they happen to have Heritage RIR. Of course I can’t verify if they were real HRIR so hopefully you know what you’re looking for and will be able to know if they are Heritage or not.

If you clicked on the links, these are the exact same birds/line I have. These people gave me my start many years ago. When I was first looking for some Reds, I went to some shows, but with covid now most shows have been cancelled. I saw some Reds that really impressed me and sought out the owner. We made arrangements for me to get a quad from him at another show coming up. I went and picked up the birds and built my birds up from them. There is an upcoming show in Lake City, Florida, "The Florida Sunshine Classic". I will be there on Saturday, Jan., 9th, but not bringing any birds.
