We have 5 eggs that were left in the egg box from 3/17-3/21. I just candled them and they are slightly developed. We currently do not have a broody hen which we are praying for. An egg from a previous batch got cracked and I don't feel comfortable to use nail polish or glue on it. So, I put that back in the egg box. It is not a leaking crack. It just has a small peck in crack with hairline cracks north and south. I decided to put that in the egg box for the hens to decide about. I have 11 eggs in the incubator right now that started incubating on the 19th at 10:30pm. There is room in the incubator.

What is the best next step to take?

Do I put these 3/17-3/21 eggs, the 5, back in the egg box to hopefully get a hen broody?

OR

Do I need to forget about the hens and just add these to the incubator a little later? This will be 2 days later. So is that too much of a staggered hatch?

Do you have a hen that is close to going broody? If so, I would put them in the incubator and give them to her once she commits.
