I have eight eggs that started hatching today the first one that started hatching died before he came out. is there anything i can do to make sure they hatch ok

I'm assuming you're hatching in an incubator, is that correct? If so, and you're at hatch point, you want to make sure you've upped the humidity and pulled the vent plugs for the chicks. At lockdown, I up my humidity to somewhere between 50-60%. This achieved by placing a small bowl in the bator with a sponge sticking out of the top. You pull all of the plugs so the chicks have adequate air.
Its very tempting, but DO NOT open the incubator. Everytime you do, you let out precious humidity and make it harder for the others to hatch.
Some will die during the hatching process, some may die after. Unfortunately that's just the way it goes :/ Good luck with your hatch!
