Hi everyone the temp in the incubator shot up to around 45 degrees or just under on sunday night, the eggs are on day 25today (sebastopol goose eggs) I have candled the eggs and there is no movement today, as soon as i realised the temp had gone up i removed and checked the eggs 2 of the goslings were moving inside, I put the eggs back in when the temp was about 37 and 1/2 degrees. 2 days on and there's no movement or pipping I'm frightened they might have died due to the increase in temp?? Does anyone knows what the signs are if they have died or shouldn't there be much movement at this stage anyway???

I recommend patience. That was obviously not a good thing to happen and heat like that is worse than them cooling off but it takes a while for the inside of the eggs to actually heat up. It just depends on how long the incubator was at that level. You were measuring air temperature, not the temperature inside the egg.

I don’t hatch geese so I don't know your expected hatch date. I wouldn’t worry about seeing movement right now. If your hatch runs late, you can do the float test, but I would not do the float test until at least a couple of days after your expected hatch date. The float test for this is where you put an egg that has not pipped in a calm container of water. It should float at that age. If there is something alive in it, it will wiggle.

if it happen aat day 25 and two days later you couldnt "see" movement it is likely because of how large the goslings now are and how much space they fill up in the egg. They typically dont hatch before day 30, and rest a lot during the entire process.

Thanks very much for your help the eggs are on day 25 today and the only thing I can see is the air sack so im guessing they don't have alot of room to move, fingers crossed they will be ok. I will do the float test after the expected hatch date thankyouuu :))))
