Hatching eggs

We have set eggs twice this year and none of them have hatched. I heard that a turkey's first year of laying eggs (which this is), they won't hatch. Is this true and why we're not getting any babies?

I have never had my turkeys first year of eggs not hatch. All the hens that I have had have laid fertile eggs and laid lots of them their first year. What state do you live in? I live in Fl so climate might have something to do with your turkeys not laying.

It sounds like you might have a sterile or inexperienced tom.

She lays fine, they just don't hatch. I've got two males, and they take turns in the pen, so I know one has to "work". Some of the rotten eggs I nursed had chicks in them, just not formed yet. She'd been sitting on them for 6 weeks, so I know they weren't gonna hatch.

Not true for me about first year laying eggs. Also not true for me about 1st few eggs of the years not hatching. All of my first time girls have laid eggs and the eggs have hatched. My first eggs of the year also hatched this year. I had a 100% hatch rate.

What are the temps in your area? Is she on the eggs constantly?

We've had a rainy Summer, with temps about 75-90* her four weeks. Yes she was on them ALL the time.
