hatching eggs

Day one starts as soon as you set the eggs, and ends 24 hours later. For example, if you set eggs at 8:00 am, this would be the beginning of day one. At 8:00 in the morning the following day, day one would be over and day two would begin.

according to "stages in chick embryo development, MSU cares" the first day is day one- but they also go hr. by hr., Day 2 starts 25 hrs in, by hr 25 it is the starting of the heart- but before the day ends hr 42 the heart is beating. There is a lot that goes on. but I guess "DAY ONE" and "one whole day" are to diff. things depending on the hr. Also when you placed the egg. if you placed it lat in the day I don't think I'd even count that day.
