Hatching fertile store bought eggs?

I was recently baking something with my sisters when I noticed that the eggs we were using are fertile. They had the white little bulls eye. The little embryos are still alive though. They usually turn red or purple when they die. So I decided I would give a go at hatching one. So I put it in the incubator that we had from when hatched ducklings. it's only day 2 and it's a brown egg so you can't see much when you candle it. But the yolk seems to be getting darker and bigger like it did with our fertile duck eggs. So do you think it's possible?

It's absolutely possible.

There's a huge club/thread here of people that have hatched Trader Joe's eggs. It says on the package that they're fertile.

I'll admit the store bought eggs I've bought have never been fertile, and I've never tried to hatch them. I didn't get an incubator until I had my own chickens with fertile eggs. I'd be tempted to try it at some point.

Others have bought a certain brand of eggs, Trader Joe's, that were labeled "fertile eggs" from their grocery stores and have successfully hatched them. None of the stores I shop at have fertile eggs, but some do have free range eggs and I've thought about getting some of those and seeing what happens.

What brand of eggs did you buy?

Yes, it's possible...
