I'm wondering how to hatch guinea, as I plan on getting some this summer, and I'm still deciding whether to just buy some keets, or hatch them.

Im asking here, because last time I googled how to hatch, I lost the entire clutch from humidity.

It is my experience that buying live chicks, keets, poults, etc. is far cheaper in the long run than it is to buy shipped hatching eggs. I have not had any problems selling off the extras that are required to meet minimum shipping requirements.

That said, I have gotten better (50% hatch) results from shipped guinea eggs than I have from any other shipped hatching eggs. The key to success on shipped eggs is that the shorter the distance shipped and the fresher the eggs are, the better chance you will have of hatching them. It is even better if you can get your hatching eggs locally.

I use a forced air cabinet incubator with the temperature set at 99.5°F. I try to keep the humidity between 30% - 35% for days one through 25 and increase the humidity to approximately 65% to 70% for lockdown.

Good luck.
