Hi I am hatching guinea eggs, a friend told me they hatch in 21 days so i stopped turning them on day 18 and its day 23 i cracked one open and killed it...I looked online and it says 26-28 days do you think my hatch will be effected from not being turned after day 18? Any helpful hints would be appreciated. Does anyone know if spraying the eggs will help as the shells are so hard.

Sorry about the egg.

We've accidentally killed eggs in this way as well, trying to figure out if the eggs were ready to hatch or not.

The others eggs should, however, be fine.
I wouldn't spray them if I were you, as guineas come from naturally dry areas. Make sure the humidity is high though and keep an eye on the eggs. If the keets have trouble hatching you can very carefully give them a hand. We've done this before.
Don't rush to assume they are having trouble though, it can take 24 hours for them to get out of the shell.

Best of luck!
