I didn’t know what to title this and it’s not that important, i just wanted to say this.
I have a barred rock cockerel and we have to give him away. He is with hens so their eggs would be fertile. The hens are isa brown hens I think (the commom brown ones) and I thought If i take some of those eggs and hatch them, I could have a “baby” version of Bertie (my barred rock cockerel), so some part of him would still be “with” me in a little chick.
My mum said no because she doesn’t want them to hatch into cockerels and then we won’t be able to give them away.
I know there is no way of telling if the eggs will be cockerels or hens but I just really want to hatch some (even though I won’t be able to).
Also, what would a barred rock and isa brown cross look like if anyone has any pictures (don’t worry if you don’t have one).
I just thought I’d say this because I want people to know what I’m feeling
