Hatching Indian runner ducks

Hello all I have 11 Indian runner eggs in my incubator. It is day 30. Yesterday several of them made a small external pip. But nothing since. One has pipped at the wrong end of the shell so I cracked off a little of the shell over the pip wet the membrane and put a tiny little hole in it above the beak for air. I am so nervous I'm not sure how long to wait between intervening Incase they are stuck. I am concerned as it it still very cold down here and having trouble keeping humidity up. 70% is the most I have managed. How can I tell if the membranes are to dry and the chicks can't turn. This is worse than childbirth and I have 5 children lol.

Just put my runner ducks into lockdown! Slightly nervous because 1. I haven't been successful with duck eggs and 2. These are shipped and they have saddle shaped air cells!! Got a feeling these next few days are going to feel like forever

due to the air cells I may need help incase I have to assist!

The good folks over on the Incubating & Hatching forum should be able to help you out. Or the Duck forum peeps.

Best of luck!
