hatching injury

So after the worst hatch I've ever had, I had one egg pip. I woke up this morning to find the chick out, but it's cut itself on the shell right on it's little neck. It's chirping and bright but...any chance it will heal?

I've fashioned a tiny bandage and put a tiny bit of neosporin on the wound. The bandage is to keep him from scratching at the cut & making it worse.

It will probably heal pretty quickly, especially since you bandaged it so nicely. If you have any trouble getting the bleeding to stop, kitchen flour will stop it very quickly. If the bleeding has stopped, and he can't scratch the wound open again, then he should be fine.

Update: changed the bandage this morning & the wound is almost completely closed.

Chick is eating & drinking well.
