Because he is zipping he is most Likely ready to hatch
If he is a bit stuck yoy can finish his zip and pull the cap back and let him finish pushing out
If he still can’t push out you may have to help a little more

Thank you so much! I got the baby out but some of the yolk hasn't absorbed completely 😔and I had to assist another one that stopped zipping. Now I have one that pipped that I think I may have to help as well, and another that hasn't pipped at all. This hatch has been a nightmare 😔 thank you for your quick reply!

If the yolk is just little I would get a smell bowl or cup and put dry paper towel down then place baby in it
This prevents others from picking at it and causing it to rupture

That’s not very much but you don’t want the others to peck it
So go the small bowl or cup with the dry paper towel
Some put antibiotic cream on it without pain relief
I myself have not ever done this as I never had one dry out
Thank you I will do this now! This has been so stressful! I really appreciate your help!

We all get ourselves a stressful batch
My first batch was very stressful and out of 6 I was incubating 4 needed assistance
Then mom was on 8 eggs and throughout snd lost 5 of them
Her nesting area was large and she would hide them to come eat and loose one here and there then at hatch time she had the same issues I did and babies needed help but I didn’t want to jump in and the first two who made internal pips never external and died there was one egg left who bruised the wrong end
I really didn’t want her to have sat for 30 days and not have a baby so I took that egg and assisted over 52 hours. Then tried to sneak the baby and egg back in when she came out for water and she tried to attack it
They are buddies now as it’s been 14 months
My issue was my girl was new to laying and her eggs were way to small for ducklings to have room so they got stuck now I only incubate over 70 grams and have zero issues
I was a hot mess after all that but I couldn’t love them all anymore if I tried :)
You to will recover after all hatching is done
