Hatching issues?

I realise this is an old thread, but would love to know if you ever figured it out at all.
I’m pretty sure the humidity was a bit high. Also the turner broke so they didn’t get turned as often. I’m currently hatching another round of shipped eggs and can update when I know how they do. I have the tuner fixed and humidity lower this time. I did hatch 17/21 not shipped duck eggs a few months ago in the incubator.

Okay, thanks for replying, well at least that's some good news. I have had recent hatching issue with shipped chicken eggs. I know it's to be expected, but you always hope to get lucky don't u?! Have some in low to hatch, however, I already think I am down to about 8 out of 16, just in early quitters, infertile etc. And of course, nearly all had and have saddled air cells, so I am expecting some that are developing to end up not making it anyway 😞 Good luck with your hatch! X

Yeah, my last shipment was mostly broken and took 6 days to arrive. 4 made it to lockdown and 1 hatched- with assistance. Yesterday was day 21 and I opened the other 3 as I hadn’t seen movement and as expected they were dead. I had ordered 24 and set 11 I think.

I hade 5 make it to lockdown and only 2 hatch so i feel your pain 😢. I literally know they were good at lockdown and I thought I did everything right! Let's hope for better results soon! X

It’s so sad. Especially when I only have 1 chick now. I do have some hatching early next week though. Hopefully.

Oh no! While I was watching them not hatch, I was literally begging to get at least 2 as it's out of season for chicks here, really and I didn't want 1 on its own. Sorry about that. Like I said, it's heartbreaking to get them that far and then they not hatch. Then I think, perhaps I should have "interfered," with like an emergency air hole or something, because they all died anyway! So, what could be a worse outcome?! That's so strange! I have some incubating as we speak also, with Hatch day as Tuesday or Wednesday! Fingers crossed for us both! What have u got in again currently? Xx

I’m hatching Delaware broilers. Hoping to get breeding stock. I had 9 hatch in July and then 8 died in a storm ( flash flood, badly placed chicken tractor). Then I ordered 2 dozen eggs and they took forever and arrived literally scrambled except a few. Set those anyways and got the one chick. Ordered another 2 dozen and they shipped UPS. Got here in 2 days but still had many broken. I’m really hoping for at least 6 hens so I can be done either shipped eggs and just hatch my own eggs. My last home egg hatch of ducks was so so easy- set them, keep the water tank full, and they hatched all by themselves. Shipped eggs I do assist… because it’s already expensive per chick and I don’t want to lose any.
