Hatching mishap

My hen was sitting on fertile eggs. While collecting eggs from under her I have accidentally picked up a fertile one, which has now been refrigerated for several days. Oh dear Lord, I feel terrible. Have I killed the developing chick? What should I do with the egg now, just dispose of it. I couldn't bear to open it. It would have been incubating for13 or 14 days when accidentally removed. I'm sick over it.

It’s probably dead by now. But you can always candle to see. If it’s dead just toss it out.

I candled it, and it just looks solid, and rattles if lightly shaken.. I just don't want to toss it if there's any chance it may still be alive

I'm sorry, It's gone, it was gone a few hours after it was in the fridge.
Always mark the hatching eggs.
