I know this sounds odd, but I used Maxi Pads!

My wife told me about them and they worked! I used them in conjunction with water in the wells, and having one of the vent plugs closed. Another way is to take a shallow pan of water and put a sea sponge inside to increase the surface area of the water. This will increase your humidity dramatically.

WOW!!! Doesn't sound odd at all, I LOVE it!!! How wet do you make the pad? That's awesome!!! (I know you're a guy but...) I had a hysterectomy in February so now I know what to do with the leftover pads

I tried incubating some Muscovy eggs and I got NOTHING.....I let the mothers do it themselves and Voila!! One hen hatched out 23, the other 13 and one hen is on the nest due this month..she is on 12/13 eggs.

Aside from kotex, you can also use a washcloth clipped to a shelf (mr saddi built me a cabinet bator for my 30th birthday), put the bottom in a dish of water, and let it wick up the cloth. Basically you want larger surface area for the water to evaporate from. I also will steam the water before I add it in (like making a cup of tea) the steam helps replace the humidity lost when I oen the door to fill the water bowl up (in the desert our average humidity is ~ 20% or less.)
