Hi All!
We are new to raising chickens (egg layers) and we have 12 eggs in the incubator that are due to begin the hatching process next Friday. We'll take any advice you have :)

We are in Southern NH and one question we do have is what to do with multiple Roos if we get multiples (since it's a 50/50 shot we'll have to deal with that for sure)?

We'll be starting the build our coop very soon so advice on that is also welcome.

Thanks Everyone!
Tina

Hello and welcome from Ohio....so glad you joined us. There are lots and lots of opinions on here on what to do with extra roos. I have a neighbor that takes anything extra I have to offer. Other people build seperate pens just to house their extra roos. Others put all extras in the freezer. Good luck with your hatching

One of the advantages of raising your own chickens is that you get to pick what they eat and how they live, and when you eat them you know you are getting humanely raised birds with no medications, chemicals or salt solutions added. Put the extra roos in a separate run, don't name them, and usually you can find a processer that will do the dirty work for you.
