Hatching on the wire floor or in an egg carton?

My opinion is to stay away from paper anything... I also think its better to have the eggs on there side. Not saying cartons are bad. If you have a tall incubator you can put them in cartons an tilt the carton to have the eggs on there side still. If not you can cut the cartons in to 1 egg wide strips an then they will be in cartons held still but still be on there side. I really don't think rolling around hurts them any though. But if you do thin fine but there is no reason to stand them on end to hold them still. I know If I was stuck in a barrel I would have an easier time getting out if it was on its side.

Well, for ME and my incubator, The humidity and temp and all stay perfect with laying them on papertowels. It's your choice

many people have different opinions and I respect that, but I don't think I could relax with being worried the chicks will get stuck or have troubles hatching in the egg carton. I have read many things on hatching, and the INSTUCTIONS to my incubator. They ALL say lay them on a papertowel. So I am assuming it's just the type of incubator you may have if it effects the humidity.
