Hey, my chickens should start laying soon(32 weeks) and was wondering if the first eggs they lay will be good for the bator? How long should I wait before hatching there eggs?

You have a rooster right ?? ( I know dumb question, but !!)

First you need to check to see if the eggs are fertile (no need to put them in if your rooster isent doing his job) Cracking a few open you should be able to tell !!

I wouldn't incubate the first egg you get, If you cant wait till the eggs start getting bigger I would at least wait a few week. When chickens first start to lay there eggs are usally tiny and could have soft shells and other problems, I would wait in till there systems got into a little. JMO.... Good luck !!

the skinny, bullet shaped ones don't hatch well. Not enough room for the chick to turn around. Any that are shaped like a regular egg, go for it.

At the moment I have 3 hens and a rooster so I should get good fertility.
