Rooster problem

Let's start with some key information which is is this actually a mature rooster or are you dealing with a young Cockerel who is just coming into his hormones? How old is your bird? How old are the females that he is currently in a flock with?

You didn’t get a good rooster. IMO it is mostly genetic and hormonal. You can pull him out of the flock and wait 2 months, maybe he will improve, but often not.

The best way to get a good rooster is not to keep a rotten one.
yes this is why i would recomend looking for breeders who breed for good temperment instead buying from hatcheries.

And how much experience do you (OP, I mean) have with chickens?

Even gentle mating behaviour might seem like bullying to someone unfamiliar with it.

Yes, more information could be very helpful. Ages of all of the chickens. What does this plucking look like? Is he standing on their backs and grabbing them on the head? That is probably normal mating but we can discuss the details. Is he pinning them to the ground and trying to drill a hole through their skull with his beak? That is dangerous. Or something else? I can't tell what you are dealing with right now.

when he pins them to the ground he is tryin to bread. this alone is most of the time is fine not bad. but if he is just going over and peaking at them. there are a few reasons for that.

1 how many hens do you have that he gets to be around. it is best for
1 rooster for every 8 to 12 hens. if there are not enuf hen he may pick on them. if this is the problem you should get more chickens.

2 he may like a lot of roosters just be mean. one of my hens would get picked on a lot by others hens. the way i fixed that is by take a laser pointer and when a chicken would atack my hen i would turn teh laser on and point it at the atacking hens body. and most of the other chickens would scare her off. this worked for me.
